Narrative:

Level at 11000 ft on published STAR, TCASII gave RA requiring immediate climb. The climb was initiated and subsequently the traffic was sighted and verified to be no factor. An immediate return to assigned altitude was made. Our aircraft deviated approximately 300 ft (up to 11300 ft). The other aircraft was departing and cleared to 10000 ft. He leveled at 10000 ft but apparently triggered the RA due to a rapid climb rate.

Title: ALTDEV ALT EXCURSION DUE TO TCASII RA.

Narrative: LEVEL AT 11000 FT ON PUBLISHED STAR, TCASII GAVE RA REQUIRING IMMEDIATE CLB. THE CLB WAS INITIATED AND SUBSEQUENTLY THE TFC WAS SIGHTED AND VERIFIED TO BE NO FACTOR. AN IMMEDIATE RETURN TO ASSIGNED ALT WAS MADE. OUR ACFT DEVIATED APPROX 300 FT (UP TO 11300 FT). THE OTHER ACFT WAS DEPARTING AND CLRED TO 10000 FT. HE LEVELED AT 10000 FT BUT APPARENTLY TRIGGERED THE RA DUE TO A RAPID CLB RATE.
