Narrative:
The air carrier Y flight normally arrives at iyk well in advance of our air carrier X flight. This day air carrier Y was approximately 5 mins in front of us. When we were over pmd VORTAC, air carrier Y was past mohave en route to iyk. At that time air carrier Y told joshua approach they had iyk airport in sight but would enter the airport from the north instead of the normal south entry. This surprised us. At 30 mi south of iyk we terminated radar service with joshua approach and tuned to iyk CTAF. We made position reports on iyk CTAF at 20, 15, 10, and 5 mi out requesting other traffic to make themselves known. No one responded. We entered the airport from the south making left traffic to runway 20 as per the AFD. Upon entering left downwind to runway 20 we noticed air carrier Y was not on the ramp as we expected. We continued to landing with standard radio calls on downwind, base, and final. Air carrier Y arrived as we walked into the terminal. Inside the terminal an air carrier Y passenger confronted the air carrier X captain. Apparently, air carrier Y took evasive action to avoid hitting us on short final. We were completely unaware of any problem. Our air carrier X agent said air carrier Y entered from the northwest on a right base to runway 20 contrary to AFD. She said air carrier Y went nearly inverted to avoid us. Station personnel said the air carrier Y captain later said he was on joshua approach frequency until turning final. They also said air carrier Z, a former operator, had often complained of air carrier Y making right traffic contrary to AFD. This incident should never have occurred. Air carrier Y should have been on the ground and should have made radio calls. We don't know why air carrier Y entered from the northwest as this was out of the way.

Title: NMAC AT NON TWR ARPT BTWN 2 LTT'S. ARR TFC.
Narrative: THE ACR Y FLT NORMALLY ARRIVES AT IYK WELL IN ADVANCE OF OUR ACR X FLT. THIS DAY ACR Y WAS APPROX 5 MINS IN FRONT OF US. WHEN WE WERE OVER PMD VORTAC, ACR Y WAS PAST MOHAVE ENRTE TO IYK. AT THAT TIME ACR Y TOLD JOSHUA APCH THEY HAD IYK ARPT IN SIGHT BUT WOULD ENTER THE ARPT FROM THE N INSTEAD OF THE NORMAL S ENTRY. THIS SURPRISED US. AT 30 MI S OF IYK WE TERMINATED RADAR SVC WITH JOSHUA APCH AND TUNED TO IYK CTAF. WE MADE POS RPTS ON IYK CTAF AT 20, 15, 10, AND 5 MI OUT REQUESTING OTHER TFC TO MAKE THEMSELVES KNOWN. NO ONE RESPONDED. WE ENTERED THE ARPT FROM THE S MAKING L TFC TO RWY 20 AS PER THE AFD. UPON ENTERING L DOWNWIND TO RWY 20 WE NOTICED ACR Y WAS NOT ON THE RAMP AS WE EXPECTED. WE CONTINUED TO LNDG WITH STANDARD RADIO CALLS ON DOWNWIND, BASE, AND FINAL. ACR Y ARRIVED AS WE WALKED INTO THE TERMINAL. INSIDE THE TERMINAL AN ACR Y PAX CONFRONTED THE ACR X CAPT. APPARENTLY, ACR Y TOOK EVASIVE ACTION TO AVOID HITTING US ON SHORT FINAL. WE WERE COMPLETELY UNAWARE OF ANY PROB. OUR ACR X AGENT SAID ACR Y ENTERED FROM THE NW ON A R BASE TO RWY 20 CONTRARY TO AFD. SHE SAID ACR Y WENT NEARLY INVERTED TO AVOID US. STATION PERSONNEL SAID THE ACR Y CAPT LATER SAID HE WAS ON JOSHUA APCH FREQ UNTIL TURNING FINAL. THEY ALSO SAID ACR Z, A FORMER OPERATOR, HAD OFTEN COMPLAINED OF ACR Y MAKING R TFC CONTRARY TO AFD. THIS INCIDENT SHOULD NEVER HAVE OCCURRED. ACR Y SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE GND AND SHOULD HAVE MADE RADIO CALLS. WE DON'T KNOW WHY ACR Y ENTERED FROM THE NW AS THIS WAS OUT OF THE WAY.
