Narrative:
After takeoff (clt runway 18R), tower advised us to fly heading 200 degrees at 1.6 DME and then contact departure control. I realized that I did not have the correct frequency and asked the tower for it. After contacting departure control they gave us a code for our transponder. At this time I checked the ACARS for a pre departure clearance message and when there was none, I realized that we had not received an ATC route clearance. Departure control was advised and they gave us a clearance to destination.

Title: MLG DEPARTS WITHOUT RTE CLRNC.
Narrative: AFTER TKOF (CLT RWY 18R), TWR ADVISED US TO FLY HDG 200 DEGS AT 1.6 DME AND THEN CONTACT DEP CTL. I REALIZED THAT I DID NOT HAVE THE CORRECT FREQ AND ASKED THE TWR FOR IT. AFTER CONTACTING DEP CTL THEY GAVE US A CODE FOR OUR XPONDER. AT THIS TIME I CHKED THE ACARS FOR A PDC MESSAGE AND WHEN THERE WAS NONE, I REALIZED THAT WE HAD NOT RECEIVED AN ATC RTE CLRNC. DEP CTL WAS ADVISED AND THEY GAVE US A CLRNC TO DEST.
