Narrative:
Upon completion of a local VFR flight from FD38 I was returning to the airport for landing. FD38 is a private use airstrip, for members and guests only. I was flying with the owner of the aircraft who resides at FD38. After clearing the entire airport traffic pattern and making appropriate unicom xmissions, I demonstrated a military style 360 degree overhead pattern. This is a nonstandard maneuver for civil fields, however it is a common practice for all military flying organizations. During the turn to final, I elected to fly down the runway in a clean confign for photographic purposes. A pull-up was made at the end of the runway for entry into the downwind, followed by a normal (standard traffic pattern) full stop landing. I am filing this report for the following reasons: first to the general public, the first pattern may be considered 'careless and reckless operation.' far 91.13. This was not the case, as this maneuver was well within the normal operating envelope of the aircraft.

Title: A PVT SMA MADE A LOW PASS AFTER AN OVERHEAD APCH TO A PVT ARPT.
Narrative: UPON COMPLETION OF A LCL VFR FLT FROM FD38 I WAS RETURNING TO THE ARPT FOR LNDG. FD38 IS A PVT USE AIRSTRIP, FOR MEMBERS AND GUESTS ONLY. I WAS FLYING WITH THE OWNER OF THE ACFT WHO RESIDES AT FD38. AFTER CLRING THE ENTIRE ARPT TFC PATTERN AND MAKING APPROPRIATE UNICOM XMISSIONS, I DEMONSTRATED A MIL STYLE 360 DEG OVERHEAD PATTERN. THIS IS A NONSTANDARD MANEUVER FOR CIVIL FIELDS, HOWEVER IT IS A COMMON PRACTICE FOR ALL MIL FLYING ORGANIZATIONS. DURING THE TURN TO FINAL, I ELECTED TO FLY DOWN THE RWY IN A CLEAN CONFIGN FOR PHOTOGRAPHIC PURPOSES. A PULL-UP WAS MADE AT THE END OF THE RWY FOR ENTRY INTO THE DOWNWIND, FOLLOWED BY A NORMAL (STANDARD TFC PATTERN) FULL STOP LNDG. I AM FILING THIS RPT FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS: FIRST TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC, THE FIRST PATTERN MAY BE CONSIDERED 'CARELESS AND RECKLESS OP.' FAR 91.13. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE, AS THIS MANEUVER WAS WELL WITHIN THE NORMAL OPERATING ENVELOPE OF THE ACFT.
