Narrative:
We were cleared for takeoff on runway 22R at btr. A light twin had been cleared to land on runway 13 to hold short of runway 22R. As we reached the runway intersection, having already rotated, we heard the pilot of the other aircraft broadcast that they were unable to stop. At this time, the first officer and I both saw the aircraft to the right, extremely close to runway 22R. As we lifted off, the first officer saw the other aircraft turn hard to the right and apparently leave runway 13. Before we switched to departure, we heard the pilot of the other aircraft announce that they were unable to taxi and would need a tow. I do not believe that there is sufficient runway on 13 prior to the intersection of runway 22R to warrant a clearance to land to hold short of that intersection.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AN ACR MLG AND AN SMA HAD AN NMAC AT A RWY INTXN.
Narrative: WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF ON RWY 22R AT BTR. A LIGHT TWIN HAD BEEN CLRED TO LAND ON RWY 13 TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 22R. AS WE REACHED THE RWY INTXN, HAVING ALREADY ROTATED, WE HEARD THE PLT OF THE OTHER ACFT BROADCAST THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO STOP. AT THIS TIME, THE FO AND I BOTH SAW THE ACFT TO THE R, EXTREMELY CLOSE TO RWY 22R. AS WE LIFTED OFF, THE FO SAW THE OTHER ACFT TURN HARD TO THE R AND APPARENTLY LEAVE RWY 13. BEFORE WE SWITCHED TO DEP, WE HEARD THE PLT OF THE OTHER ACFT ANNOUNCE THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO TAXI AND WOULD NEED A TOW. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THERE IS SUFFICIENT RWY ON 13 PRIOR TO THE INTXN OF RWY 22R TO WARRANT A CLRNC TO LAND TO HOLD SHORT OF THAT INTXN.
