Narrative:
While taxiing out of a parking area onto controled taxiway to active, a collision between this aircraft and an small transport was averted by pilot of other aircraft. Ground control did not inform either aircraft of other aircraft operating at intersection of txwys. Failure to check both directions upon turning onto new taxiway.

Narrative: WHILE TAXIING OUT OF A PARKING AREA ONTO CTLED TXWY TO ACTIVE, A COLLISION BTWN THIS ACFT AND AN SMT WAS AVERTED BY PLT OF OTHER ACFT. GND CTL DID NOT INFORM EITHER ACFT OF OTHER ACFT OPERATING AT INTXN OF TXWYS. FAILURE TO CHK BOTH DIRECTIONS UPON TURNING ONTO NEW TXWY.
