Narrative:
While taxiing into parking, the left wing of the aircraft struck the aft part of a commissary truck. I was taxiing 3 to 4 ft right of the taxi line. The marshaller was positioned on the first officer's side halfway between the centerline and parking stub. Lighting was poor. Lights ahead were facing toward aircraft and to the left side. Commissary truck was parked adjacent to another commissary truck. Marshaller had night wands. From my viewpoint, I felt I had at least 3 ft of wingtip clearance. I felt the aircraft slow slightly. I turned to the left and looked to see the wingtip coming off the back of the truck. All the time, the marshaller was giving me straight ahead. Chain of events: 1) night with poor or inadequate lighting. 2) lack of sufficient personnel to guide aircraft to parking. 3) lack of trained personnel due to high turnover rate. 4) improper position of marshaller to marshall aircraft. 5) lack of markings on the ground for pilots to determine clearance of aircraft and other equipment and vehicles.
