Narrative:

Normal rated power applied for takeoff on runway 11 at oak. Normal callouts were given at 80 KTS. Passing 110 KTS, but prior to V1/vr the engine failure lights illuminated. The so announced 'engine failure, the captain (PF) initiated the abort and asked the first officer to notify the tower of our aborted takeoff. A PA was made to the passenger as we exited the highspd taxiway normally. Once the aircraft was stopped on the taxiway, the captain called for the checklists. We concurred that the #1 engine had failed. The hard card (quick reference checklist) was reviewed for the engine failure. Then the pilot's operating manual pwrplant abnormal section. 1 engine inoperative follow-up checklist was reviewed for the appropriate items. We requested firefighting equipment to follow us during our taxi to the gate. Supplemental information from acn 257941: thanks to our training program, it went just like the simulator!
