Narrative:
The flight was air carrier xyz from jfk to phx on jul/xa/00. The copilot was making the takeoff. We were cleared for takeoff by the tower and approximately 80-85 KTS given an ambiguous statement by the tower to stop the takeoff. Not exactly sure of their statement, I asked 'do you want us to stop our takeoff?' we aborted the takeoff and prior to clearing the runway, I asked the tower 'specifically, why were we told to abort the takeoff?' the reason given was 'flow over robbinsville VOR had been stopped.' we exited the runway, performed our checklists and informed our passenger and flight attendants, then called the tower and had them pull the tape. We also contacted air carrier via ACARS regarding the circumstance.

Narrative: THE FLT WAS ACR XYZ FROM JFK TO PHX ON JUL/XA/00. THE COPLT WAS MAKING THE TKOF. WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF BY THE TWR AND APPROX 80-85 KTS GIVEN AN AMBIGUOUS STATEMENT BY THE TWR TO STOP THE TKOF. NOT EXACTLY SURE OF THEIR STATEMENT, I ASKED 'DO YOU WANT US TO STOP OUR TKOF?' WE ABORTED THE TKOF AND PRIOR TO CLRING THE RWY, I ASKED THE TWR 'SPECIFICALLY, WHY WERE WE TOLD TO ABORT THE TKOF?' THE REASON GIVEN WAS 'FLOW OVER ROBBINSVILLE VOR HAD BEEN STOPPED.' WE EXITED THE RWY, PERFORMED OUR CHKLISTS AND INFORMED OUR PAX AND FLT ATTENDANTS, THEN CALLED THE TWR AND HAD THEM PULL THE TAPE. WE ALSO CONTACTED ACR VIA ACARS REGARDING THE CIRCUMSTANCE.
