Narrative:
As I was cleared to land at san jose runway 29 I entered left base with 1 cessna on short final. When I turned from base to final I noticed I overshot the centerline of runway 29 by 100 ft, so I continued my left turn and flew back toward the centerline. As I did, a being 737-300 airlines jet on short final for runway 30L flew past my aircraft lower and right. I was not comfortable with the distance. Now I know what to expect at sjc. My attention to detail in the pattern could use some improvement and I will work on it, however, the margin for error is too small at sjc runways 29 and 30L with simultaneous lndgs.
