Narrative:

We were taxiing to runway 30L at hou. We were given clearance to taxi via charlie. This is a new route for us, as we have been using taxiway microphone for a number of yrs. The captain, out of old habit, followed microphone. I was not aware of anything wrong because I was reading the checklist. I should have noticed, but it seemed normal since we have gone this way many times before. Just as we were about to cross runway 30R, the captain asked me how we were cleared and I said 'via charlie.' we both were now aware of our mistake, but it was too late. We had already crossed runway 30R. The problem we both found was that we were used to doing the same thing. When the instruction changed, we missed it.
