Air carrier X was on a converging heading with a gulfstream, both in a descent. The conflict alert alarm in the radar scope went off, and the 2 aircraft were turned to avoid one another, a loss of separation did occur.

Title: ACR X HAD LTSS FROM GULFSTREAM. SYS ERROR.
Narrative: ACR X WAS ON A CONVERGING HDG WITH A GULFSTREAM, BOTH IN A DSCNT. THE CONFLICT ALERT ALARM IN THE RADAR SCOPE WENT OFF, AND THE 2 ACFT WERE TURNED TO AVOID ONE ANOTHER, A LOSS OF SEPARATION DID OCCUR.
