Narrative:
After lowering the gear for a landing in ith, we had 3 green down and locked lights but a left gear warning on a secondary system. I disregarded the secondary warning until reaching 400 ft AGL when the GPWS began screaming an unsafe gear. After a go around and cycling the gear several times to no avail, we proceeded to syr which had a long, clear runway. The decision was made to make an emergency landing. After preparing the passenger, we made a tower fly-by and the gear 'appeared' down. The landing was uneventful. My purpose in documenting this is to give credit to the cockpit resource management my airline has stressed in training. We, as the cockpit crew, solicited and used all available information -- not feeling guilty if we had not thought of it. The cabin crew and us worked as a coordinated team to bring about a safe conclusion to the flight. Cockpit resource management works!
