Narrative:
We requested a visual approach to runway 13 at bis and received clearance. The tower controller issued no traffic for us. Turning final we got a climbing RA. We complied. The traffic was 200 ft below us and less than a mi. We never did see this plane. It was a light plane flying right traffic under bis tower control. Our heading now was about 180 degrees and 2500 ft AGL. The tower controller asked our intentions. We requested a right 270 degree turn to land on runway 13. She cleared us to land. As we rolled through about a 045 degree heading, she quickly issued traffic that we would see in our turn. This was a twin cessna on a left base for runway 13. He saw us first and decided to turn out to the northwest in order for us to land. In our turn to final we saw him and got an RA. He was about 1 mi away, same altitude but diverging away from us. This second conflict was not close. The entire problem occurred because we were not issued any TA's.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLC OF AN MLG ACR ACFT TOOK EVASIVE ACTION IN RESPONSE TO A TCASII RA DURING BASE LEG TO FINAL CAUSING ABANDONMENT OF THE APCH. SUBSEQUENTLY THE SAME ACFT WAS TURNING AN OPPOSITE BASE TO FINAL, BUT IT GAVE WAY TO THE RPTR'S ACFT, ALLOWING THE RPTR TO LAND WITHOUT FURTHER DELAY.
Narrative: WE REQUESTED A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 13 AT BIS AND RECEIVED CLRNC. THE TWR CTLR ISSUED NO TFC FOR US. TURNING FINAL WE GOT A CLBING RA. WE COMPLIED. THE TFC WAS 200 FT BELOW US AND LESS THAN A MI. WE NEVER DID SEE THIS PLANE. IT WAS A LIGHT PLANE FLYING R TFC UNDER BIS TWR CTL. OUR HDG NOW WAS ABOUT 180 DEGS AND 2500 FT AGL. THE TWR CTLR ASKED OUR INTENTIONS. WE REQUESTED A R 270 DEG TURN TO LAND ON RWY 13. SHE CLRED US TO LAND. AS WE ROLLED THROUGH ABOUT A 045 DEG HDG, SHE QUICKLY ISSUED TFC THAT WE WOULD SEE IN OUR TURN. THIS WAS A TWIN CESSNA ON A L BASE FOR RWY 13. HE SAW US FIRST AND DECIDED TO TURN OUT TO THE NW IN ORDER FOR US TO LAND. IN OUR TURN TO FINAL WE SAW HIM AND GOT AN RA. HE WAS ABOUT 1 MI AWAY, SAME ALT BUT DIVERGING AWAY FROM US. THIS SECOND CONFLICT WAS NOT CLOSE. THE ENTIRE PROB OCCURRED BECAUSE WE WERE NOT ISSUED ANY TA'S.
