Narrative:
Engine failure on takeoff occurred causing vibrations and popping noise. The noise and vibrations were very distracting. I feel the important points of such an occurrence are to first fly the aircraft at all times, then determine and fix the problem. The distrs were large and they could easily cause one to lose track of what your first objective should be, 'fly the airplane.'
