Narrative:

Turning into runway 2, tower said I was #2 to land and to follow the other airplane in. I said I have the airplane over right wing and he said to follow him in. I was going down wind and I turned base to follow him. Another plane was on final and he said I cut in front of him and he had to pull up and out of the way to avoid hitting me. I never saw the other airplane but the tower told me to turn to a heading of 270 go across the airport down wind and turn base final and land when I got on the ground and to the FBO. The other pilot called me and asked me what happened. I told him the above facts and he informed me he had to pull up out of the way to avoid an incident. My passenger and I never did see him so I do not know for sure the horizontal or vertical distance for sure (they are estimates). I was looking around (scanning) and following the tower instructions. I still do not know what happened.
