Narrative:
TCASII gave an RA maximum climb on traffic reported by ZOB 127.4 at XX25Z apr/fri/94. We were level at FL240 and traffic opposite direction at FL230. Saw on TCASII, -9 then target started to climb, -7, -6, alert went off commanding conflict climb 1700 plus rate. An immediate climb was executed, forcing 2 flight attendants to the floor. Seat belt was already on due to continued light turbulence. Everyone seated, no injuries. A320 aircraft flight dca to dtw. Captain, first officer, saw -2 on TCASII before divergence. Supplemental information from acn 267972: TCASII was functioning properly and alerted us to a danger we would not have seen otherwise.
