Narrative:
As the watch supervisor instructed a controller to conduct simultaneous lndgs on intersecting runways utilizing group separation (one aircraft holds short of the intersection). However, I did not anticipate the lack of visual separation capability on the tower's part. Aircraft X and Y lost standard radar separation as they approached the airport.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: MULTIPLE RWY OP INTERSECTING RWYS APCHS ACFT X AND Y HAD LTSS. SYS ERROR.
Narrative: AS THE WATCH SUPVR INSTRUCTED A CTLR TO CONDUCT SIMULTANEOUS LNDGS ON INTERSECTING RWYS UTILIZING GROUP SEPARATION (ONE ACFT HOLDS SHORT OF THE INTXN). HOWEVER, I DID NOT ANTICIPATE THE LACK OF VISUAL SEPARATION CAPABILITY ON THE TWR'S PART. ACFT X AND Y LOST STANDARD RADAR SEPARATION AS THEY APCHED THE ARPT.
