Air carrier X, a B727 inbound to pie, deviated due to a TCASII alert on a PA28, also inbound. Probable cause: lack of positive control in airspace. Due to the density of air carrier operations into and over the airport, the airspace should be redesignated to class C.

Title: ACR X TCASII RA WITH PA28 IN ATA. EVASIVE ACTION TAKEN. SEE AND AVOID CONCEPT.
Narrative: ACR X, A B727 INBOUND TO PIE, DEVIATED DUE TO A TCASII ALERT ON A PA28, ALSO INBOUND. PROBABLE CAUSE: LACK OF POSITIVE CTL IN AIRSPACE. DUE TO THE DENSITY OF ACR OPS INTO AND OVER THE ARPT, THE AIRSPACE SHOULD BE REDESIGNATED TO CLASS C.
