Narrative:
The radar technician called the supervisor in the TRACON and asked for a beacon change on the charlotte radar. When the supervisor changed the beacon to channel 1 the beacon system started to power down at the site according to the radar technician. The supervisor immediately changed the system back to channel 2. This is just another problem with the beacon system. The FAA administrator's hotline has been advised of our problems here at charlotte.
