Narrative:
When gear was lowered for landing, 'a' hydraulic system pressure and quantity went to zero. A missed approach was executed. The gear and flaps were lowered by alternate means. The emergency equipment was called out as a precaution. No emergency was declared. Subsequent landing was uneventful. Aircraft was eased off the runway onto a high speed taxiway, shut down and towed to the gate. Subsequent investigation revealed a leak in the nose gear hydraulic down line.
