Narrative:
Air carrier X cleared for takeoff on runway 28L at pdx, another air carrier Y (dash 8) was on final for runway 20. Due to conflict with our aircraft he made a go around with a right turn either on his own or by instruction (I don't recall hearing the tower issue the instructions). It appeared his turn was going to come too close to us after we became airborne. We banked left to increase the separation. I did not see Y until rotation due to his ht and terminal which blocked view.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: MULTIPLE RWY OP INTERSECTING RWYS. ACR X TKOF HAD CONFLICT WITH ACR Y ON GAR. EVASIVE ACTION TAKEN. SEE AND AVOID CONCEPT. OPERROR.
Narrative: ACR X CLRED FOR TKOF ON RWY 28L AT PDX, ANOTHER ACR Y (DASH 8) WAS ON FINAL FOR RWY 20. DUE TO CONFLICT WITH OUR ACFT HE MADE A GAR WITH A R TURN EITHER ON HIS OWN OR BY INSTRUCTION (I DON'T RECALL HEARING THE TWR ISSUE THE INSTRUCTIONS). IT APPEARED HIS TURN WAS GOING TO COME TOO CLOSE TO US AFTER WE BECAME AIRBORNE. WE BANKED L TO INCREASE THE SEPARATION. I DID NOT SEE Y UNTIL ROTATION DUE TO HIS HT AND TERMINAL WHICH BLOCKED VIEW.
