Narrative:
On jul/fri/94 flight took off from ord at XA42 am en route to aus. During the flight #2 engine oil quantity slowly dropped. The crew diverted to dfw. At dallas, it was found that the oil cap was missing from #2 engine. On jul/thu/94 pulled into my gate at ord. I checked the tires, svced engine oils, and to the best of my knowledge installed the oil caps and closed the access doors. Then I connected the tow bar and push tractor and entered the oil quantity in the computer and in the logbook. Then the taxi crew took aircraft to the hangar where it remained overnight. My shift was over at XB15 pm and I went home. At approximately 1 hour later, a mechanic found an oil cap from a JT8 engine at gate and informed midnight shift management. They proceeded to check the last bank of flts that departed for oil service to see if it was one of them. Then they checked all overnight aircraft at the terminal, but somehow missed this aircraft at the hangar.
