Narrative:
Departing swf runway 27, at approximately 1300 ft MSL on climb out, received TCASII RA telling us to climb, climb, climb. Within 1 1/2 mi off our left wing (10 O'clock) was a target indicating he was 300 ft above our altitude. Followed TCASII commands and changed over to departure controls on 132.75 , he issued a vector heading of 350 degrees.we were never advised of the traffic in the air traffic area. No evasive action was needed, just commands to increase our rate of climb. Soon traffic passed off our left. We asked departure control if he had any known information on traffic, and he responded yes, and didn't swf tower advise you of traffic prior to your takeoff? We received no information from swf tower. We did speak with the person working local and he expressed a concern over how the facilities at swf tower needed to be improved.

Narrative: DEPARTING SWF RWY 27, AT APPROX 1300 FT MSL ON CLBOUT, RECEIVED TCASII RA TELLING US TO CLB, CLB, CLB. WITHIN 1 1/2 MI OFF OUR L WING (10 O'CLOCK) WAS A TARGET INDICATING HE WAS 300 FT ABOVE OUR ALT. FOLLOWED TCASII COMMANDS AND CHANGED OVER TO DEP CTLS ON 132.75 , HE ISSUED A VECTOR HDG OF 350 DEGS.WE WERE NEVER ADVISED OF THE TFC IN THE ATA. NO EVASIVE ACTION WAS NEEDED, JUST COMMANDS TO INCREASE OUR RATE OF CLB. SOON TFC PASSED OFF OUR L. WE ASKED DEP CTL IF HE HAD ANY KNOWN INFO ON TFC, AND HE RESPONDED YES, AND DIDN'T SWF TWR ADVISE YOU OF TFC PRIOR TO YOUR TKOF? WE RECEIVED NO INFO FROM SWF TWR. WE DID SPEAK WITH THE PERSON WORKING LCL AND HE EXPRESSED A CONCERN OVER HOW THE FACILITIES AT SWF TWR NEEDED TO BE IMPROVED.
