Narrative:
While being vectored for an ILS final runway 12R at sat I came nose to nose with a glider. It occurred just prior to turning onto final. He was just slightly to the left of my nose and about 3800 ft and appeared to be climbing. It was pretty hazy with clouds just above me. I was at 4000 ft. My first officer called the traffic. I pulled up 100-200 ft and he went under me. I reported the incident to approach control and called them after landing. I filed a near miss report. Solution: gliders should not be operating on an ILS final approach course into any major airport.
