Narrative:
Flew from toronto (island) cytz to erie. Customs inspection had been arranged by pilot earlier that morning. When landing at erie, where I was to pick up passenger for the next leg of flight, I was told to taxi to operations of company. I didn't remind the tower that I needed customs, no one (custom's agent) met the aircraft. So I went about preparation for the next leg of the flight without ever being inspected by customs. I called customs the next morning to inform them of the mixup and problem. Possible solutions: tower should be informed that the flight originated in canada (IFR flight plan). Customs could have called the tower when I didn't arrive on time to verify arrival of ETA -- this may not have prevented my going to the FBO before reporting, but at least the aircraft would have still been on the field. Pilot should have reminded the tower that customs service was needed.

Title: ATX PLT FAILS TO HAVE CUSTOMS INSPECTION UPON ARR AT ERI FROM CANADA.
Narrative: FLEW FROM TORONTO (ISLAND) CYTZ TO ERIE. CUSTOMS INSPECTION HAD BEEN ARRANGED BY PLT EARLIER THAT MORNING. POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS: TWR SHOULD BE INFORMED THAT THE FLT ORIGINATED IN CANADA (IFR FLT PLAN). CUSTOMS COULD HAVE CALLED THE TWR WHEN I DIDN'T ARRIVE ON TIME TO VERIFY ARR OF ETA -- THIS MAY NOT HAVE PREVENTED MY GOING TO THE FBO BEFORE RPTING, BUT AT LEAST THE ACFT WOULD HAVE STILL BEEN ON THE FIELD. PLT SHOULD HAVE REMINDED THE TWR THAT CUSTOMS SVC WAS NEEDED.
