Narrative:
Departed robrt intersection on 190 degree heading from iad. Approach vectors for ILS runway 1L. Descending from 10000 ft to 5000 ft. At about 8200 ft received a TA followed in about 2 seconds by RA 'climb.' approach called traffic also and recommended left turn. We made a hard left climbing turn as traffic passed off our right wing. We climbed to about 8300 ft during maneuver. Supplemental information from acn 281609: picked up traffic visually. Single engine light aircraft at 8000 ft head on prior to evasive maneuver. Estimate 500 ft lateral separation after evasive action.
