Narrative:
Hard TCASII alert 'traffic/climb.' climbed 800 ft to FL268, called milan control 125.27 at 1035 Z to inform of hard TCASII alert and climb action. Milan controller said 'no problem, you have 5 mi separation -- maybe you should turn your TCASII to standby.' red DOT at FL260 was within 2 1/2 mi ring on 5 mi scale. No doubt in my mind at the hard TCASII alert was valid, and the intruder passed 800 ft below and just behind after climb.
