Narrative:
On departure from sxm cleared to 2500 ft. Right turn direct coy VOR. During turn was cleared to 5000 ft maintain heading (even though in a turn). During climb to 5000 ft we got a TCASII RA. We saw the intruder aircraft about 1/2 mi to our right at our altitude (approximately 3500 ft). We were climbing at 2000 FPM and the TCASII showed fly down at 2000 FPM. This was an incorrect resolution! No evasive action was taken or needed. This was not a near miss. This was an incorrect TCASII RA that made for a brief startling experiences.
