Narrative:
Upon landing the captain pitched the aircraft to such an altitude that the tail struck the runway. The strike resulted in damage to the tail section. On postflt walk around this damage was discovered and I reported it to the captain. He mentioned that he would speak with maintenance and 'take care of the problem.' it was later discovered by the company that this problem was never written up in the maintenance logbook as it should have been. Even though it is not my responsibility to write maintenance items up, I should have been more certain that the captain was going to write this item up.
