Narrative:
During the approach of flight on aug/xx/94 at about XA45PM into lax runway 25L. We initiated and performed a go around because of a TCASII RA. The flight was normal at 2500 ft, on glide path -- localizer etc. Normal operation through 2000 ft with gear down -- flaps 30 final descent checklist complete. Between 1200 ft and 1300 ft we received a TCASII message 'traffic, traffic.' the first officer was hand flying the approach and I was looking out for traffic and monitoring the approach. First officer asked 'do you see the traffic' and I replied 'no.' we received a 'climb, climb.' I instructed the first officer to go around and immediately he began to climb. I notified the tower of our intention to go around due to traffic. Tower gave us a heading of 250 degrees and an altitude of 2000 ft, however by this time we were already climbing through 2000 ft and at 2500 ft we started back down to 2000 ft all the while bringing the flaps and gear up etc. The go around was then completed and we were vectored around to be sequenced back into line for a non event landing at lax.

Title: FLC OF LGT OVERSHOT ASSIGNED ALT DURING GAR DUE TO A TCASII RA ON ILS APCH.
Narrative: DURING THE APCH OF FLT ON AUG/XX/94 AT ABOUT XA45PM INTO LAX RWY 25L. WE INITIATED AND PERFORMED A GAR BECAUSE OF A TCASII RA. THE FLT WAS NORMAL AT 2500 FT, ON GLIDE PATH -- LOC ETC. NORMAL OP THROUGH 2000 FT WITH GEAR DOWN -- FLAPS 30 FINAL DSCNT CHKLIST COMPLETE. BTWN 1200 FT AND 1300 FT WE RECEIVED A TCASII MESSAGE 'TFC, TFC.' THE FO WAS HAND FLYING THE APCH AND I WAS LOOKING OUT FOR TFC AND MONITORING THE APCH. FO ASKED 'DO YOU SEE THE TFC' AND I REPLIED 'NO.' WE RECEIVED A 'CLB, CLB.' I INSTRUCTED THE FO TO GAR AND IMMEDIATELY HE BEGAN TO CLB. I NOTIFIED THE TWR OF OUR INTENTION TO GAR DUE TO TFC. TWR GAVE US A HDG OF 250 DEGS AND AN ALT OF 2000 FT, HOWEVER BY THIS TIME WE WERE ALREADY CLBING THROUGH 2000 FT AND AT 2500 FT WE STARTED BACK DOWN TO 2000 FT ALL THE WHILE BRINGING THE FLAPS AND GEAR UP ETC. THE GAR WAS THEN COMPLETED AND WE WERE VECTORED AROUND TO BE SEQUENCED BACK INTO LINE FOR A NON EVENT LNDG AT LAX.
