Narrative:
At PM30 local time (ord) we were cleared for takeoff on runway 22L. As we climbed up, the gear was retracted at sign of position rate of climb. Flaps were then retracted at 400 ft AGL. At approximately 1000 ft AGL (1600 ft MSL). Aircraft rolled 45-50 degrees left followed immediately by a roll right of approximately 45 degrees. Aircraft then returned to wing's level. We followed a B-737- 300 or 400 off runway 22L. Possible that controller did not allow required space between the 737 and our aircraft. We reported the event to the departure controller.

Narrative: AT PM30 LCL TIME (ORD) WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF ON RWY 22L. AS WE CLBED UP, THE GEAR WAS RETRACTED AT SIGN OF POS RATE OF CLB. FLAPS WERE THEN RETRACTED AT 400 FT AGL. AT APPROX 1000 FT AGL (1600 FT MSL). ACFT ROLLED 45-50 DEGS L FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY BY A ROLL R OF APPROX 45 DEGS. ACFT THEN RETURNED TO WING'S LEVEL. WE FOLLOWED A B-737- 300 OR 400 OFF RWY 22L. POSSIBLE THAT CTLR DID NOT ALLOW REQUIRED SPACE BTWN THE 737 AND OUR ACFT. WE RPTED THE EVENT TO THE DEP CTLR.
