Narrative:
Flight from ewr to mco at FL280, we were operating with #1 generator placarded inoperative. The APU shutdown caused the autoplt to trip off. We lost 300 ft while recovering from the autoplt tripping off. ATC (center) asked if we were having a problem. We asked for FL260, we descended and were able to restart APU and continued on to orlando.
