Narrative:
At XX07, sep/xx/94 local time the arrival west scope went OTS. This scope was not in service at XB00 O'clock on sep/xx/94. The reasons stated for this was the age of the equipment. A contributing factor is that no technicians are available to work on the equipment between XA00 and XD00 due to a lack of staffing by airways facilities personnel. The unavailability of this scope created a situation that required an abnormal confign during our arrival push and the combining of the arrival and departure complex in another. This increases controller workload and impacts the safety of the operation.

Title: RADAR DISPLAY OUTAGE.
Narrative: AT XX07, SEP/XX/94 LCL TIME THE ARR W SCOPE WENT OTS. THIS SCOPE WAS NOT IN SVC AT XB00 O'CLOCK ON SEP/XX/94. THE REASONS STATED FOR THIS WAS THE AGE OF THE EQUIP. A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR IS THAT NO TECHNICIANS ARE AVAILABLE TO WORK ON THE EQUIP BTWN XA00 AND XD00 DUE TO A LACK OF STAFFING BY AIRWAYS FACILITIES PERSONNEL. THE UNAVAILABILITY OF THIS SCOPE CREATED A SIT THAT REQUIRED AN ABNORMAL CONFIGN DURING OUR ARR PUSH AND THE COMBINING OF THE ARR AND DEP COMPLEX IN ANOTHER. THIS INCREASES CTLR WORKLOAD AND IMPACTS THE SAFETY OF THE OP.
