Narrative:
Was on night training flight with instructor. I was flying from left seat. Approach to runway 32 at harvey field, lost airspeed rapidly when about 20 ft from touchdown. Trees on left side may have caused strange winds. Felt like wind shear. Added power to stop descent but too late or inadequate to prevent hand landing. Very few lights at harvey -- not an airport I would necessarily fly to in darkness. The landing was after a simulated engine -- out which could have contributed to problem. Thankfully no serious or rptable damage.
