Narrative:
At FL350 right engine went to full thrust. Throttle lever had no control over engine thrust. N1 and engine temperature were approaching limits. Shut engine down using checklist. Proceeded to nearest suitable airport which we determined to be allentown, PA. We did not declare an emergency but did request emergency equipment to stand by. We were able to make timely contact with our mci maintenance land and our dispatcher to reinforce our decision to shut engine down and proceed to allentown ATC was very helpful and the entire operation went very smoothly.
