Narrative:
The time was about XA00 hours at cps. After receiving IFR clearance for a final leg to my home base of W00, I was progressively directed by ground control to taxi to runway 12R from the FBO on the south ramp. Upon reaching the departure end of runway 12L, I accidentally continued taxiing across the runway end. My eyes were focusing on the blue taxi lights on my right and not being familiar with this airfield, I created this operational error. Less than 1/2 way across the runway end, I immediately realized what I had done and wished then that I had 'reverse gear.' I quickly crossed to the other side and stopped. Seconds later the controller asked me to taxi back to the ramp and telephone the tower, which I did. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states that when he called the tower they asked him why he did that? He indicated he was confused but realized his error quickly and wished he could back up. He has been contacted by the FAA and is scheduled for remedial training. Aircraft is a bonanza. Apparently there was no traffic conflict.

Title: SMA TAXIED ACROSS DEP END OF RWY WITHOUT CLRNC. RWY INCURSION.
Narrative: THE TIME WAS ABOUT XA00 HRS AT CPS. AFTER RECEIVING IFR CLRNC FOR A FINAL LEG TO MY HOME BASE OF W00, I WAS PROGRESSIVELY DIRECTED BY GND CTL TO TAXI TO RWY 12R FROM THE FBO ON THE S RAMP. UPON REACHING THE DEP END OF RWY 12L, I ACCIDENTALLY CONTINUED TAXIING ACROSS THE RWY END. MY EYES WERE FOCUSING ON THE BLUE TAXI LIGHTS ON MY R AND NOT BEING FAMILIAR WITH THIS AIRFIELD, I CREATED THIS OPERROR. LESS THAN 1/2 WAY ACROSS THE RWY END, I IMMEDIATELY REALIZED WHAT I HAD DONE AND WISHED THEN THAT I HAD 'REVERSE GEAR.' I QUICKLY CROSSED TO THE OTHER SIDE AND STOPPED. SECONDS LATER THE CTLR ASKED ME TO TAXI BACK TO THE RAMP AND TELEPHONE THE TWR, WHICH I DID. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THAT WHEN HE CALLED THE TWR THEY ASKED HIM WHY HE DID THAT? HE INDICATED HE WAS CONFUSED BUT REALIZED HIS ERROR QUICKLY AND WISHED HE COULD BACK UP. HE HAS BEEN CONTACTED BY THE FAA AND IS SCHEDULED FOR REMEDIAL TRAINING. ACFT IS A BONANZA. APPARENTLY THERE WAS NO TFC CONFLICT.
