Narrative:
During approach to ewr, we got a right hydraulic press low light, followed by low pressure or gauge and right quantity decreasing. We followed our communication procedures, gear would not extend normally -- used emergency gear extension handle. Got 3 green lights, gear door open light remained on -- after landing we verified position of doors with tower. Called maintenance had them pin gear -- towed us in to gate. This event occurred close in to airport, resulting in limited time for correcting action. We had normal gear and flap indications, so I saw no reason for holding or delaying landing. Did not feel emergency priority or equipment was necessary, as we had normal flap and gear was down and 3 green. Flight attendant's were not notified because of the limited time available. I felt there was not sufficient time to fully explain our condition. As my attention was occupied by flying the aircraft and completing normal checklists, and communication procedures.

WE HAD NORMAL GEAR AND FLAP INDICATIONS, SO I SAW NO REASON FOR HOLDING OR DELAYING LNDG. DID NOT FEEL EMER PRIORITY OR EQUIP WAS NECESSARY, AS WE HAD NORMAL FLAP AND GEAR WAS DOWN AND 3 GREEN. FA'S WERE NOT NOTIFIED BECAUSE OF THE LIMITED TIME AVAILABLE. I FELT THERE WAS NOT SUFFICIENT TIME TO FULLY EXPLAIN OUR CONDITION. AS MY ATTN WAS OCCUPIED BY FLYING THE ACFT AND COMPLETING NORMAL CHKLISTS, AND COM PROCS.
