Narrative:

Taxiing out from a congested parking area I called company and recommended that aircraft be pushed back because wingtip clrncs were very close. Company told me to return to the gate because the aircraft marshaller felt our wingtip might have grayed the adjacent aircraft. We returned to the gate and had our aircraft visually inspected by a qualified air crew member and found no damage to our aircraft. We proceeded to our destination. The other aircraft was in fact struck and incurred damage to the radome. At our destination we had our aircraft visually inspected again and also electronically inspected. No damage was found. In future, in close quarters, I will request a pushback.
