Narrative:
After takeoff from sfo, ATC advised all aircraft who have recently taken off that a tire cap and part of a gear door were found on the runway. The exact aircraft was not known. Since I had no indication of any problem and none of the crew heard or felt anything, we continued to phl. A precautionary landing with emergency equipment standing by was made at phl. The landing was normal. At the gate we learned it was our aircraft. The tire cap was missing with minor damage to the aircraft. The tire did not deflate. All FAA procedures were followed throughout the flight.
