Flight was dtw to cwa. We turned from V170 onto V45 thinking that was our filed route of flight (V45, V2BAE steaww, cwa), controller challenged us and said 'no,' we were filed V170 pmm- V170 bae ste auw cwa. Human factors: new captain on IOE (me). 1ST time to cwa in over a yr. Corrective action: review flight plans prior to each leg. A better corrective action would be for our company to put the filed route of flight on our dispatch release.
