Narrative:
We were given clearance to fly 040 degree heading after hanki. I turned to 040 degree heading at intersection just prior to hanki. Problem occurred because of focusing on wrong DME for intersection. ATC queried us about our navigation track. We returned to correct course uneventfully. We should have discussed the turn location and briefed our intentions.
