Narrative:
Air carrier X instructed to taxi to runway 1 for departure at vps. We taxied via the runway 12/30 parallel eastbound. Nearing runway 1 we were unable to find the hold short line and discovered, too late, that we'd taxied onto the runway. Contributors to this occurrence were: 1) the captain's taxi speed and decision to continue taxiing without knowing where the hold line was. 2) my inability to offer the captain any help due to preoccupation with making a pretkof PA and figuring out the necessary takeoff performance data. 3) the small size and nonstandard nature of the signs marking the hold short line. (Discovered on a subsequent trip to vps.) the text on these signs is so small I still don't know what they say.
