Narrative:
While attempting to land at tpf airport I was advised by unicom that the airport was closed (in conflict with NOTAMS), I asked the lineman to inquire with the crew working on the runway if they would be alert as I was requesting to land. The crews advised they would. Landing was without danger or incident. However, after landing the 'X' on the runway was visible, (not visible from the air at night) and there were questions about the NOTAM.
