Narrative:
Departed dtw on a revenue commuter flight at 12000 ft cargo door warning light illuminated on panel. I called for QRH ditching doors. Captain performed QRH checklist. I asked center for lower altitude. We returned to dtw, however, we overflew tol, the nearest practical airport. I told captain let's land at tol, but he said company wanted us to return to dtw. QRH reads, 'land as soon as practical.'
