Narrative:

After takeoff we were told to contact departure. A left turn heading of 220 degrees was given, in which I understood as a 200 degree heading. I was still in my turn to 200 degrees and turning through 220 degrees when the PNF advised me that he understood the heading to be 220 degrees. I stopped my turn and rolled out on a 210 degree heading. The frequency was in use by other aircraft which delayed us from confirming our heading. The controller asked our heading and we gave him our heading of 210 degrees returning to 220 degrees for confirmation. He asked if we could take the tower phone number, and call when on the ground. No explanation was given. We were in the climb out in our second segment climb, there was congestion on the frequency, and we were concentrating on avoiding any possible wake turbulence of the 2 aircraft that had departed before us.

Title: HDG TRACK DEV DURING A NON ADHERENCE TO ATC CLRNC.

Narrative: AFTER TKOF WE WERE TOLD TO CONTACT DEP. A L TURN HDG OF 220 DEGS WAS GIVEN, IN WHICH I UNDERSTOOD AS A 200 DEG HDG. I WAS STILL IN MY TURN TO 200 DEGS AND TURNING THROUGH 220 DEGS WHEN THE PNF ADVISED ME THAT HE UNDERSTOOD THE HDG TO BE 220 DEGS. I STOPPED MY TURN AND ROLLED OUT ON A 210 DEG HDG. THE FREQ WAS IN USE BY OTHER ACFT WHICH DELAYED US FROM CONFIRMING OUR HDG. THE CTLR ASKED OUR HDG AND WE GAVE HIM OUR HDG OF 210 DEGS RETURNING TO 220 DEGS FOR CONFIRMATION. HE ASKED IF WE COULD TAKE THE TWR PHONE NUMBER, AND CALL WHEN ON THE GND. NO EXPLANATION WAS GIVEN. WE WERE IN THE CLB OUT IN OUR SECOND SEGMENT CLB, THERE WAS CONGESTION ON THE FREQ, AND WE WERE CONCENTRATING ON AVOIDING ANY POSSIBLE WAKE TURB OF THE 2 ACFT THAT HAD DEPARTED BEFORE US.
