Narrative:

Departing nxx in a BE99, following a helicopter, we had the helicopter in sight at all times. The helicopter was substantially slower than us, was supposed to make a left turn, and we were to make a right turn. The helicopter made a right turn and distance began to close rapidly. We increased bank to 45 degrees to the right and passed clear behind the helicopter. Cause: helicopter crew did not follow ATC clearance and we departed too close behind for being quite a bit faster. Lesson learned: do not assume everyone will do what we expect. Don't let get homeitis interfere with better judgement. Question ATC and refuse clearance if safety dictates.

Title: LTSS IMMEDIATELY AFTER TKOF.

Narrative: DEPARTING NXX IN A BE99, FOLLOWING A HELI, WE HAD THE HELI IN SIGHT AT ALL TIMES. THE HELI WAS SUBSTANTIALLY SLOWER THAN US, WAS SUPPOSED TO MAKE A L TURN, AND WE WERE TO MAKE A R TURN. THE HELI MADE A R TURN AND DISTANCE BEGAN TO CLOSE RAPIDLY. WE INCREASED BANK TO 45 DEGS TO THE R AND PASSED CLR BEHIND THE HELI. CAUSE: HELI CREW DID NOT FOLLOW ATC CLRNC AND WE DEPARTED TOO CLOSE BEHIND FOR BEING QUITE A BIT FASTER. LESSON LEARNED: DO NOT ASSUME EVERYONE WILL DO WHAT WE EXPECT. DON'T LET GET HOMEITIS INTERFERE WITH BETTER JUDGEMENT. QUESTION ATC AND REFUSE CLRNC IF SAFETY DICTATES.
