Narrative:
We took off from runway 05 at pvd with a clearance to 3000 ft. Passing 2000 ft we were given a heading to 270 degrees and a traffic call at 4000 ft at our 1 O'clock. While raising the flaps/slats, turning and leveling off we received a TA for the traffic at 1 O'clock. I was looking outside at the traffic and allowed the aircraft to climb to 3400 ft. I had the traffic in sight prior to 3000 ft and kept it in sight until it passed behind us. Upon realizing I had climbed to 3400 ft I immediately returned to 3000 ft. I allowed myself to get overloaded during a busy evolution.
