Narrative:
Taxiing to the gate at dfw. A difficult gate to park at due to 1 right 90 degree turn, then a 120 degree turn, to align with the gate. Ground equipment parked in the vicinity of the gate. Very dimly lighted. Another airline was ground handler and marshaller. When given the signal to make a right 120 degree turn by the marshaller, the left wing hit a k-loader causing extensive damage. The aircraft was in the proper position for parking at the gate, but the k-loader was out of position, not lighted, nor seen by myself or the marshaller. At the present time the FAA and my company are holding the other airline liable. I have not received any action or violation from the FAA or the company as of yet. I have been returned to flying status. Corrective actions are in progress for the gate at dfw.
