Narrative:
Overhead VOR, sat approach called saying we were indicating '2700 ft, local altimeter 29.55.' both pilots had 29.95 dialed in their altimeters because I copied the ATIS incorrectly as 29.95. We reset altimeter and climbed to 3000 ft assigned. No conflicts occurred.

Title: ALTDEV ALT OVERSHOT USING THE WRONG ALTIMETER SETTING.
Narrative: OVERHEAD VOR, SAT APCH CALLED SAYING WE WERE INDICATING '2700 FT, LCL ALTIMETER 29.55.' BOTH PLTS HAD 29.95 DIALED IN THEIR ALTIMETERS BECAUSE I COPIED THE ATIS INCORRECTLY AS 29.95. WE RESET ALTIMETER AND CLBED TO 3000 FT ASSIGNED. NO CONFLICTS OCCURRED.
